About ShramKavach

Empowering India's 15 Crore+ gig workers with free tools and knowledge

Our Story

ShramKavach (श्रम कवच — meaning "Labour Shield") was founded in 2024 with a simple but urgent mission: to bridge the information gap that millions of Indian gig workers, delivery partners, and freelancers face every day.

India's gig economy has grown rapidly, with over 15 crore workers powering platforms like Zomato, Swiggy, Uber, Ola, Urban Company, and countless freelancing marketplaces. Yet most of these workers lack access to basic information about their legal rights, tax obligations, social security benefits, and financial planning tools.

We saw this gap firsthand — delivery partners unaware they qualify for gratuity under fixed-term contracts, freelancers overpaying taxes because they didn't know about Section 44ADA presumptive taxation, gig workers missing out on EPFO and ESIC benefits introduced under the Code on Social Security 2020.

ShramKavach was built to solve this problem. Every tool on our platform is free, requires zero data storage, and is updated regularly to reflect the latest Indian labour laws and tax regulations.
